Mr. Boyce Lee Jackson was born May 13, 1921 in Spartanburg County, South Carolina to the late Alonzo John Jackson and Ola Mae McIntyre Jackson. He was the grandson of Aaron Jackson and Harriet Berry Jackson. Boyce attended school in Rutherford County, NC. He resided in Spindale and Green Creek, NC, as well as Campobello and Inman, SC and Pompano Beach, FL. Boyce was a former employee of Swink Moving and Storage in Spartanburg, SC, and also did concrete work. He also worked at the Farmers Market in Pompano Beach, Florida. Boyce was a checker player and won most of his games. He loved to build small houses. Boyce was very outspoken and didnít mind telling anyone what was on his mind. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings: Edna Jackson Hamilton (Tryes), Theresa Ophelia Jackson Brannon (George), Hattie Jackson McKinney (Roy), Lucille Jackson Whiteside (Gaston), Alberta Jackson Mills (Charles), Myrtle Jackson Chambers (Ed), Ralph Jackson, Barney Jackson and Sylvester Jackson. Boyce is survived by: his sisters, Nellie Jackson (Monroe) and Laura Jackson Chambers (Tom Henry); his special friend and longtime caregiver, Rosetta Richards; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Funeral services will be held 2:30pm on Friday, August 18, 2017 in the Community Mortuary Chapel. Burial will follow in Collins Cemetery. Arrangements are with Community Mortuary, Inc., 102 Marion Avenue, Spartanburg, SC.
