Addie Lyles Thomas, 83, of 116 Brooklyn Avenue, Carlisle, SC passed Monday night, February 5, 2018 in Spartanburg Medical Center. A native of Tuckertown in Union County, SC, she was the widow of Andrew Thomas and daughter of the late Arenious Lyles and Blanche Dawkins Lyles. She was a member of Saint Luke AME Zion Church where she sang on the Church Choir. She was a graduate of Sims High School and was retired from Union County Schools. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Arenious Lyles, L. B. Lyles, John Arthur Lyles, and Authry Jones; and a daughter-in-law, Sylvia Henderson Thomas. She is survived by one son, James Andrew Thomas of Carlisle, SC; three daughters, Brennie (Sevoy) Jeter of Boiling Springs, SC, Blanche Carter of Spartanburg, SC, and Gloria Davis of the home, one stepdaughter, Geraldine Jeter of Carlisle, SC; thirteen grandchildren; nine step grandchildren; twenty-seven step great-grandchildren; three step great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Fannie Mae Jackson of Detroit, MI; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Linda Sartor, Ronnie (Patricia) Lyles, Ricky Lyles, Annie (Boyce) Quiller, Joyce Curenton, Linda Lyles, Christine Walton, Lucy Gage (Raymond), Sandra (Radzil) Thompson, Mary Tucker, Bobbie Lyles, Juanita Lyles, and Mary Jones; and a host of nieces, nephews, including a special nephew, Kendrick Lyles; and cousins. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 10, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Saint Luke AME Zion Church with burial to follow in church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the home.
