James Eddie “Bo-Dilly” Peake, 68, of 110 Southport Road, Apt 106, Spartanburg, SC passed Thursday afternoon, May 30, 2019 in the Wm. Jennings Bryan Dorn VA Medical Center in Columbia, SC. A native of Union County, SC, he was the son of the late L. T. Peake, Sr. and Pearline Miller Peake. He joined the Wyatt's Chapel Baptist Church at an early age and attended the public schools of Union County, SC. He was a US Army veteran. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Robert Peake, Leroy Peake, Reverend J. Lewis Peake, and Claude McBeth and two sisters, Thelma Smith and Ruthel Smith. Survivors include four children, Tijuan Peake of Spartanburg, SC, Torrance Peake of Union, SC, Travella Peake of Union, SC, and Tashika Peake of Liberty, SC; thirteen grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, L. T. Peake, Jr. of Spartanburg, SC and Perletha (Juanita) Peake of York, AL; four sisters, Cansadie Johnson, Velma (Michael) Session, Jeanette Mullins, and Juliet (Charles) Moss all of Spartanburg, SC; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at Friendship Baptist Church with military honors. Burial will follow in Heritage Memorial Gardens. Public viewing will be held Tuesday from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the mortuary. The family will receive friends at the home of his sister, Cansadie Johnson, 356 Amherst Drive, Spartanburg, SC.
