Willie June Jennings, Jr., 79, of 312 Old Buffalo Road, Union, SC passed June 6, 2019 at Prisma Health Richland Hospital. A native of Union, SC, he was the widower of Bertha Mae Jones Jennings and son of the late Willie June Jennings, Sr. and Ruby Smith Jennings. He joined Thomas Chapel AME Church at an early age. He was a US Army Veteran and a former employee of Cone Mill Carlisle Finish Plant and the City of Union. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, James Smith, Eddie Jennings, Joseph Jennings, Marvelous Jennings, Alphonso Kelley and two sisters, Louella Jennings and Kathryn Jennings Thompson. He is survived by two sons, Willie Eric (Sharon) Jennings of Phenix City, AL and Niki Jennings of Union, SC; one daughter, Greta Jennings Holiway of Spartanburg, SC; three grandsons, Eric C. (Chineattra) Jennings of Ludowici, GA, Kelston Jennings and Weston Jennings both of Phenix City, AL; one granddaughter, Paris Jennings of Newberry, SC; four great grandchildren; one brother, Larry (Andrena) Jennings of Columbia, SC; five sisters, Alberta Shelton of Newberry, SC, Ruby (Robert) Cheek of Carlisle, SC, Essie Mae Jennings of Union, SC; Judy (Woodrow) Jeter and Rev. Carolyn Ann (Pete) Evans both of Santuc, SC; one brother-in-law, Samuel Jennings of Union, SC; one sister-in-law, Peggy (Woodrow) Mozee of Union, SC and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday, June 10, 2019 at Fort Jackson National VA Cemetery. The family will receive Sunday from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Community Mortuary and at other times at 801 North Church Street, Union, SC. Arrangements are with Community Mortuary, 361 Meansville Road, Union, SC.
