Elton "Punkin" Worthy

Mr. Elton “Punkin” Worthy, 73, of 488 Goldville Road, Whitmire, SC, entered eternal rest on Thursday, January 29, 2026, at Union Post Acute.

Elton Worthy was born on July 9, 1952, in Union County, SC, to Lucy Bell Rice Worthy and the late Herman Miller Worthy. He was the husband of Priscilla Jeter Worthy.

Elton was a 1970 graduate of Sims High School. He was formerly employed at Cone Mills Corporation Carlisle Finishing for 31 years. He proudly served in the National Guard as a reserve for the Whitmire unit for several years. He accepted Christ at an early age. He was a member of St. Matthew A.M.E. Zion Church in Whitmire, SC.

He leaves precious memories to his devoted wife, Priscilla J. Worthy of the home; their two children, Christopher Worthy of the home, and Shareka Worthy of Chapin, SC and his daughter Courtney Worthy; one adored granddaughter, Bailey Worthy-Vance, and two grandsons; four brothers Terry (Ruth Ann) Worthy, Richard (Jacqueline) Worthy, Bradford Worthy, and Ronnie Worthy all of Whitmire, SC; two nephews; two brothers-in-law, William (Pam) Jeter, and Terry Jeter; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends all of whom will miss him dearly.
