Kathleen (Davis) "Kat" Young

Kathleen Davis "Kat" Young, 71, of Union SC, passed away on Saturday night, February 21, 2026, in Spartanburg Medical Center.  Kathleen was born on September 16, 1954, to the late Azalee Smith Davis Lott and the late John Lee Davis. She lived in the home with her husband John A. Young. A native of Union County, she was educated in the Union public school system.

Kathleen was affectionately known to others as “Kat”. She was a member of Wyatt’s Chapel Baptist Church where she served on the Usher Board.

In addition to her parents, “Kat” is preceded in death by one daughter, Tonya Good; two grandsons, Jackie McBeth and Shondrequios Good; and four brothers, Lonnie Smith, Perry Lee Davis, Allen Davis, and William “Weezel” Rice.

“Kat” leaves to cherish fond and loving memories her daughters, Shonda Good of Union, SC, and Keisha Good of Greenville, SC; adopted son Cyril G. McBeth; special stepdaughter Latshia Smith of Union, SC and stepson, Travis Good of Charlotte, NC. She also leaves her beloved grandchildren, Lakendra (Antwuinn) Skinner, Terrica (DeQuon) Stewart, George O. McBeth Jr., Shammaryah Walton, Jake Walton, Bryan Good, KaVargio Smith, Ayden Thompson; sixteen great-grandchildren; one sister, Shirley (James) Anderson; two brothers, Eugene (Ann) Smith, and Andrew Davis; special family members, Jacqueline Hicks Smith, and Dreele Jones; and a host of other relatives and friends all of whom will miss her dearly.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Community Mortuary Inc., 361 Meansville Road, Union, SC.
